My name is Rod Graham, and I am a sociologist and professor by training and a social commentator by accident. I try and apply my sociological imagination to our everyday world. I like to call myself the neighborhood sociologist.

I try and find the midpoint between basic sociology as one would experience it in a classroom, and the application of sociology in the world.

I am a progressive, and much of my content is filtered through that political viewpoint. However, many pieces are simply about concepts and ideas from sociology and how they can be applied to our everyday world.

I believe that our society can benefit from more people using ideas from sociology to make sense of their world.

This is my small contribution.

You are reading me here, but you can also watch me on YouTube.
